Crisis Intervention Curriculum for Foster Parents

Back Home Up Next

This 1-day workshop is a Safe Crisis Management instructor training opportunity for those who work with foster parents.

Agencies working with foster parents are faced with the difficulty of training these temporary guardians in behavior intervention. JKM Training, Inc. believes that agencies must be very careful in how they equip foster parents to intervene in crisis behavior. This program provides a recommended Safe Crisis Management curriculum for foster care. In addition to the recommended curriculum, this workshop will explore training problems specific to the foster parent audience.  Specific learning exercises on modeling conflict resolution, corrective teaching, giving & receiving feedback and using planned consequences will be provided.  In addition, the program will examine policy issues related to physical skills training with foster parents.   The presenter for this workshop will be Joe Mullen, President of JKM Training, Inc.

  • How to Equip Foster Parents to Intervene in Crisis Behavior

  • A Recommended Safe Crisis Management Curriculum for Foster Care
